Aloha!
It was the best of times... "Just another day in paradise."
It was the worst of times... hearing "Ricky" the rooster at
o'dark thirty in the morning!! Thank you so much for
opening your home to we "distant travelers" (California and
Texas) haha! We had dinner at Duke's in Waikiki,
visited Polynesian Cultural Center just down the road, drove
to North Shore & various points of interest on the island
and simply relaxed!
Your home was perfect! Well stocked, nicely decorated
with a friendly warm Hawaiian atmosphere and had plenty of
room for all.

Hello there!
We are back and wanted to give you the biggest thanks for
letting us rent your house. We had a magnificent time and
the house was perfect. the bedrooms were great and the
washer and dryer did sooooo much justice. The house was so
well equipped that I felt I was home.
Your housekeeping manager
was great to us! We use to go to him to ask about local
things and he cut us some coconuts!
Thanks again for letting us rent your place. Hope we can
make this trip again and rent your place.

Aloha,
We had a wonderful time and the house made things so easy.
This is my 6th visit back to Hawaii and
it is just as beautiful as the time before. The house was
perfect and I'm used to the rooster, ha ha. It's nice to be
away from the hecticness of Waikiki.
There are so many wonderful places to visit on the island
it's hard to pick a favorite. But to name a few; North
Shore, Waimea Bay,
and now Ka'a'awa. My favorite beach is Kailua Beach. The
sand is so fine and soft, the water is always inviting and
the beach never seems too crowded.
A new attraction we visited this time was Moana Falls, a
nice hike really and pretty falls at the end. The one
surprise we found was Sharks Cove.
Again we had a wonderful time, we will definitely keep your
information for future visits. I can say I will absolutely
be back. Ka'a'awa was a perfect town to relax but still be
just a short drive from activity.

Aloha!
This was such a nice place to spend our vacation! The
house was perfect for us. We had a rental car and did
a lot of trips north and south of us. Highlights were
surfing on the North Shore - I would recommend Surf & Sea
for lessons and rentals. Also swimming to Chinaman's
Hat was great! Also hiking the Nakoa Trail (but we got
really bitten) It was great!
thank you!,

Aloha Keahiloa!
We has a fabulous time. You have a wonderful cozy home
perfect for our group.
I would definitely add that your house isn't too far from
the famous Giovanni's shrimp truck. The Polynesian
Cultural Center also isn't too far and the fact that
the North Shore was a short drive helped a lot. The
location is perfect for those that enjoys the more of the
Hawaii excursions like ATV snorkeling and etc. Overall it
was a very enjoyable place. I would definitely recommend
your house to other friends.

Aloha
Keahiloa
Mahalo to you and your family for the use of your home. We found
the house to be well-stocked with everything we needed for our
family's three week stay. We enjoyed getting to know our
neighbors and our kids really enjoyed meeting their kids. The
daily rains were refreshing and the mild temps made us forget
the Texas heat. Our adventures took us all over the island of
Oahu. The central location of your home made it easy to get to
all them. Some of our favorite destinations included the Bishop
Museum, Iolani Palace, and the USS Arizona Memorial and other
exhibits within the Pearl Harbor Visitor's Center. As for
outdoor activities, we found the summertime current at North
Shore beaches to be ideal for all of us. The swimming,
snorkeling, kayaking were all great. (Now as for the
surfing...we still need a few lessons!) My husband and his dad
were able to get some mountain hiking in thanks to the nearby
Ko'Olau Mountains while I drove the kids up Tantalus Drive to
Pu'u Ualaka'a for an awesome view of Honolulu and Diamond Head
crater. This was also a nice area to bird watch. While our days
were busy, we were always glad to return to our quiet and
comfortable home away from home. Yes the local rooster does crow
early, but not for long.
Thank you again for your hospitality!

Hello!
Your
house was wonderful, and we enjoyed every second of it! The
location was beautiful and right between all of the places that
we wanted to go. We really loved Kualoa Ranch tours, the Mac
farm, and the beach just up the street with the fir trees. I
have told many people about your rental and my husband and I are
planning to visit Oahu next summer, so we will keep you in
mind! Thank you for letting us into your beautiful home!
Sincerely, Erin

Aloha,
We
loved the Pono Loa. It was just right for our needs. It had
everything we needed for comfort. We ate at Teds bakery on the
way home from snorkeling at Sharks Cove. It was great and the
portions were enough for the two of us 2 share one sandwich and
1 dessert. The Polynesian Cultural Center is wonderful.
We toured the BYU campus and the LDS Temple grounds. We visited
their visitors center as well. Wonderful spirit there and the
tour guides were very kind and helpful. We wished we had
time to travel to the other end of the island but our time was
short. We did take 2 tours at the Kualoa Ranch. One was the
ocean tour. IT was really fun. We would recommend this
place to anyone who wants to spend time on that side of the
island or who had more free time to travel from there to other
parts of the island.
Thanks for everything, The Lau's

Good
morning
Thank
you for allowing us to stay in your home while we vacationed on
Oahu, we really did enjoy ourselves! Unfortunately our
stay was not long enough to see and do everything we wanted to
do.
Our stay here was great and met our expectations. Your
home was very quiet and relaxing and slept 7 very comfortably.
We enjoyed it very much and we also enjoyed the lush green
scenery that the island of Oahu and Pono Loa had to offer!
Thank you, Laura

Aloha Keahiloa,
Just
wanted to let you know that we just checked out of your home
after a great week stay. Thanks for renting to us this
week. Everything was great. We had an awesome time.
The home has everything and it was perfect. Kaaawa is
beautiful. So glad I lived there as a kid.

Aloha Keahiloa,
We loved the house so much, we are already planning to stay
again next year. So where did we go... since my kids
there are local, we didn't do a lot of stuff, just mostly
went to the beach or had family over (my son-in-law's mom
will probably rent the place too. She loved it and she's a
hard nut to crack). We did go to Cholo's on North Shore.
Not a hidden gem, but thought maybe other people would like
it. Your barbeque on the back lanai got a workout!
:)

Aloha Keahiloa,
We really enjoyed our stay at Pono Loa! Of the 10 days we
were there, we spent 3 of them at the Kaaawa Beach (or
Kualoa surfing)... 2 at the North Shore - Waimea Bay is
really calming down and we had a great swimming day there.
Explored Hale'iwa which was fun... 2 full days in Kailua at Lanikai
Beach - loved it!!! And of course, shave ice afterward at
Island Snow... and a day in Waikiki, complete with dinner at
Duke's Canoe Club - our best meal of the vacation.
The house was perfect - the size was just right for us, and
it stayed cool with the fans. It was well-stocked, thank
you! Sorry to "bug" you about the ants. I switched out the
ant baits and that took care of the problem. We look forward
to returning to Hawaii again (especially since it's snowy
and 40 degrees here in Wyoming!).
Best, Tracy

Aloha Keahiloa,
We truly had a wonderful time in Oahu and I cannot thank
you enough for providing such a comfortable place for us to
stay, it honestly felt like home! You provided for all
the necessities and even had things available for the
unexpected.
Thank you again and again to you and your family,
Liz and family

Aloha Keahiloa,
We arrived home safely in a snow storm with 4" of snow on
the ground. We certainly miss the Windward weather and
our morning walks to and on Kaaawa Beach each day. The
scenery is spectacular and with so few tourists here, this
has to be Hawaii's hidden secret. Our biggest concern
before coming was being an outsider in a residential
neighborhood, and if we would have 6 weeks of stink eye. We
were very relieved to find everyone here so friendly.
We prepared most of our meals in the house, but you can eat
out at a very reasonable price, and actually a better value
than on any of the other islands that we have visited.
Papa Ole's was our favorite with the miniplate having plenty
of food and always consistent quality. Surfin' Tacos
was also a good deal and for a quick cheap meal the Subway
in Laie worked well.

Aloha Keahiloa and Kapuau'i,
We had a wonderful vacation to Hawaii & very much enjoyed
staying away from all the "tourists" during our visit. We
all found your house to be just right! It is in a beautiful,
peaceful location. Loved the view off the front lanai.
Of course Ricky the rooster was quite the nuisance initially but
we got use to him after a few days! Kept us from sleeping
in too late!

Hi
Keahiloa and Kapuau'i,
Yes we did have a great time. Your house was great, we were
so glad we stayed on that side of the island. The weather was
wonderful. We had a bit of a problem getting used to
"Ricky" the rooster crowing so early and so long each morning,
but ear plugs did the trick. We enjoyed eating and
listening to the local music on open mic night at The Crouching
Lion. We visited the Ranch and the Macadamia Nut
Farm (which has a wonderful show to offer), the Polynesian
Cultural Center & the many beaches on that side of the island.
The weeks passed too fast, but we were rested and relaxed for
our return to the "real world". Thanks so much....we did
have to leave the beach chairs, umbrella and cooler we purchased
for our stay....which will just add to someone's elses
comfort...
Thanks again, Ron and Patsy

Aloha Keahiloa
We had a great time in hawaii. We really miss the daily
walks to the beach and park. The rainbows forming over the
hills in front of the house was something out of this world.
Mahalo again for allowing us to use your beautiful home,
Angie

Hi
Keahiloa,
We sure have enjoyed Hawaii and even after 3+ months of being
here, we still are sad to leave. Thank you so much for
everything you have done to help our stay here in Hawaii be
pleasant. We really feel like you have gone the extra mile to
make us feel comfortable and we really appreciate it!
Thanks so much, Craig and Kiera

Aloha Keahiloa,
We had a great time and enjoyed the house. We had a lot of
friends rent housing in Hau'ula but I feel we got the better
place. It felt more like home. The kitchen was very well
stocked with equipment. Thank you so much, and if you ever come
to Oregon maybe we could do a house swap!

Aloha Keahiloa
and Kapuau'i,
Our vacation
was awesome! The location of your house was perfect. It
was away from the city, but still close to the places we
wanted to go! The house was so nice for the four of us. We
each had our own place to sleep and had time to ourselves.
We did some cooking, so the kitchen and its amenities
were nice to have. The house was in a good area where we
felt safe. The washer and dyer were also well used and very
helpful with keeping the towels clean.
We were able to
do a lot of different things. We went skydiving on our
first day there and that was a blast! Highly recommend Sky
Diving Hawaii on North Shore! We also were able to hit
the Dole Plantation, Pearl Harbor, the swap meet, the
jumping rock, Polynesian Cultural Center and Kualoa Ranch.
We were able to go to various beaches and relax
or do some snorkeling... Electric beach is amazing! We went
scuba diving down to the Tiger Shark Wreck off Waikīkī. The
beaches were beautiful and the weather was awesome. One of
the best places we ate ate was right next to Matsumoto's
Shaved Ice place on North Shore. It was a Thai place
and it was delicious! Also Bubba Gump in the WaikīkīMall
was a lot of fun to eat at as well. Thanks so much for
all of your help. Our trip was amazing!

Aloha Keahiloa,
We had a beautiful trip and the
home was just that..a home. Having my family all together after
so many years was such a blessing. Waking up to roosters
proudly crowing, flower essences, and a thousand bird symphony
every morning gives new meaning to the word paradise. Karen and family

Aloha Keahiloa,
Again, we would like to say thanks for the hospitality. The
house was great, and the location was perfect compared to the
business of other areas on the island. My family had a great
time, and our friends enjoyed the relaxation as well. My
wife enjoyed Ka'a'awa Beach Park the best. It was very calm,
and she and I got to relax while the kids enjoyed the small
ocean pool. The house was the perfect size for our party, and
was very comfortable. The neighbors were friendly and the area
was just breathtaking.

Aloha Keahiloa,
We have just
returned from a fabulous time on Oahu. I wanted to thank you for
the use of your vacation home, Pono-Loa. With all the amenities
provided it was as comfortable as being at home. It was great
being out of the hustle and bustle of town, but close enough to
be there if we chose to go.
Thank you again for
sharing your piece of paradise with us, Martin and Marilyn

Aloha Keahiloa
and Kapuau'i,
We loved Pono-Loa!
Our daughter from California and her husband joined us and they
both loved the place too. They said that they would definitely
stay there if they came back to Hawai'i. We couldn't believe
how well everything was stocked - bedding, bathroom supplies,
etc. My husband who loves to cook was really impressed with how
well the kitchen was stocked. The kids had fun with the
snorkeling gear and boogie boards. The only thing that was a
bother was the early crowing of the roosters, but there's not
much you can do about that. We understand completely as they
are all over Hawaii. My son-in-law figured out a quick fix
though... he bought a pair of ear plugs which worked for him.
Again, thank you
for letting us share your lovely home and we hope that things
continue to go well for you.

Aloha Keahiloa,
Thank
you for allowing us to stay at your wonderful vacation house.
It was exactly what we hoped for. So good to spend time back
home. The experience at your home brought so much aloha spirit
to our family. The location was perfect for us. I forgot
how many wild chickens were on the island... kinda like pigeons on
the mainland. Anyways, waking up to the crowing roosters on
some days brought back some childhood memories.

Hi
Keahiloa,
Just
wanted to say "thanks again" one more time! My newlywed wife
and I really enjoyed your beautiful house. It was the perfect
place for us following our wedding. We especially appreciated
the thoughtful welcome gifts of beverages and snacks. Wanted
to also let you know that several of our relatives came to visit and
they plan to call you about renting the house for future vacations.
thank
you again and a "BIG MAHALO" for your gracious hospitality!

Aloha Keahiloa,
Mahalo
again for everything, we had a great time, the house was impeccable,
we loved Kaaawa. We even got to climb the mountain behind to
check out the view from up there. We will recommend it to
everyone.
Talk to
you soon, Simone

Dear
Keahiloa and Kapuau'i,
We were
so grateful to have stayed at Pono-Loa. Thank you for sharing
your vacation home with us. The location was perfect for us to visit
with family on the island but also be able to explore on our own.
Kaaawa is a great community in itself, close to great beaches,
parks, north shore destinations such as Sharks Cove, Polynesian
Cultural Center and far from the crowds. It was right where we
wanted to be. The house was comfortable, full of aloha and well
stocked with everything we needed and more. We loved how fast the tradewinds would
cool off the house once we came home and opened the jalousies! And
of course waking up to the roosters' sound was classic Hawaii! We
look forward to our next stay at Pono-Loa!
Much
aloha,
the
